Meet Seham

I’m Seham, the founder of Pureté Clinic and an Advanced Aesthetic Practitioner. I have over 10 years of experience in the beauty and aesthetics industry and hold a Level 4 qualification from the Yorkshire College of Beauty, where I was proudly awarded Student of the Year. Before launching Pureté, I spent years developing my expertise working within established clinics across Europe, including Therapie Clinic.

But as much as my training taught me, my deepest understanding of skin did not come from a textbook or a corporate clinic. It came from my own struggles.

My Journey: The real cost of chasing quick fixes

Looking back at my skin over the last twenty-three years, it’s been quite a ride. My skin struggles started when I was just 16, and I’m 39 now. Desperate to fix the breakouts back then, I used to order strong, aggressive treatments online and apply them to my face as a teenager. But the acne persisted well into my early 30s.

Like anyone else who is frustrated and self-conscious, I tried absolutely everything. I spent a fortune on products that promised the world but never worked long-term. The breakouts would always come right back, the rough texture would return, and I’d just end up caked in heavy makeup to try and hide away from the world.

Later on, still searching for a fast solution, I went to hospital clinics and paid a lot of money for strong chemical peels. I thought a heavy-duty clinical treatment would finally be the answer. Instead, it backfired completely. Those expensive peels completely stripped my skin barrier, leaving me painfully sensitive to the sun for years, and triggering severe rosacea and visibly large pores. My skin was constantly inflamed, flushing, and struggling to defend itself.

Looking back, my relationship with my skin was trying to tell me things I just was not ready to see yet. The breakouts, the rosacea, and the changes in my pores were not just random bad luck; they were a direct reflection of my internal gut health, my stress levels, and honestly, my relationship with myself and my self-image.

It was only after taking the time to slow down, attend retreats, and go inwards to process what was going on underneath that things began to shift. As I started healing my relationship with my body in many different ways, I learned to slow down my approach to skincare, too. I realised we have to work layer by layer.

Between 2021 and 2023, I spent two years deeply immersed in learning about holistic wellness and emotional well-being. It was a time of immense personal growth that completely shifted how I show up for people. Holding a safe, calm space for others and supporting them through stress isn't just a service I offer, it has simply become a part of who I am and how I listen as a practitioner.

Why I do things differently now

It was that personal turning point combined with my advanced training in anatomy, the physiology of ageing, and skin therapies that completely changed how I practise today. Our skin is speaking a language to us. We need to actually slow down and listen to it, not attack it.

True skin health takes a much gentler, holistic approach. We have to look inside first, because things like stress levels, emotional well-being, and your digestive health always show up on your face.

We also have to realise that less is usually more. Society tells us we always need a 10-step routine with the strongest chemical ingredients. But stripping things back gives the skin, especially skin battling rosacea, the actual breathing room it needs to heal and naturally minimise the appearance of pores. And finally, we have to watch what we absorb. Our skin absorbs what we put on it, right down into the deeper layers. Think about your current skincare and makeup like food, if you would not feel safe eating those ingredients, should your body really be absorbing them?

Aggressive skincare is honestly just like a crash diet. It might give you a quick result for a second, but it never lasts. Usually, the problem comes back even worse because you have not fixed the root cause or built a sustainable daily habit.

Alongside my day-to-day clinical practise, I love taking part in local wellbeing events and collaborations that bring together skin health, self-care, and community connection. I’m constantly continuing my training in advanced aesthetics so I can always give you the highest standard of honest, expert care.

Let’s stop guessing and figure out what your body and skin actually need, from the inside out.
